Thanks TSgt Joe C. for reminding us that on February 14, 278 AD Valentine, a holy priest in Rome in the days of Emperor Claudius II, was executed because he stood for marriage.
Emperor Claudius II banned marriage because it divided the loyalties of the legionnaires between serving the Emperor and their families.
Saint Valentine, officially known as Saint Valentine of Rome, is a third-century Roman saint widely associated with "courtly love."

It has all the elements of romance. A great undying love. Devotion to that love and sacrifice.

Ma'am, there are no werewolves, vampires, or a Mr. Grey anywhere in this story. Where is the romance we've come to know?
