Thanks TSgt Joe C. for letting us know that on February 4, 1983 The wonderful singer Karen Carpenter who with her brother were The Carpenters, who long suffered under the burden of the expectations that came with pop stardom, died after succumbing to heart failure brought on by her long, unpublicized struggle with anorexia.
"A very sick Karen Carpenter sings "Please Mr Postman" live.....
Karen's illness was apparent to everyone except herself. She received treatment and was recovering when her heart gave way as a result of the illness Anexoria nervosa...
Anorexia is a common eating disorder in which people strive to get thin because they think that they are overweight, often hurting themselves..."

Rest in peace Karen Carpenter!
