Thanks Maj Marty Hogan for letting us know that January 31 is the anniversary of the birth of WWII U.S. Army 2LT veteran, American professional baseball second baseman who became the first African American to play in Major League Baseball (MLB) in the modern era Jack Roosevelt Robinson.
"Army 2nd Lt. Jack Roosevelt Robinson never saw combat in World War II, except in his lonely battle for civil rights in the military when he stood against segregation and was court-martialed for refusing to go to the back of the bus."
Rest in peace Jackie Robinson

While serving in the military, Jackie Robinson was arrested for refusing to move to the back of a segregated bus. In 1947, he made history when his debut with the Brooklyn Dodgers ended racial segregation in Major League Baseball.

Maj Marty Hogan This guy despite the obstacles he faced was a great ball player really ahead of his time. He was in a class of his own.

Peace!
