She suffered sexual abuse by family members, and that may have been a precursor to her depression and mental state. It is unfortunate that she had to suffer so. I like her non-fiction very much. Maj Marty Hogan SMSgt Minister Gerald A. "Doc" Thomas COL Mikel J. Burroughs

Thanks Maj Marty Hogan for letting us know that January 25 is the anniversary of the birth of English writer Adeline Virginia Woolf née Stephen who is considered one of the foremost modernists of the twentieth century and a pioneer in the use of stream of consciousness as a narrative device.
The Bloomsbury Group—or Bloomsbury Set—was a group of associated English writers, intellectuals, philosophers and artists which included Virginia Woolf, John Maynard Keynes, E. M. Forster and Lytton Strachey.
Interestingly enough, to me anyway, in 1962 Edward Albee first staged his play "Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?" which examines the complexities of the marriage of a middle-aged couple, Martha and George.

Rest in peace Adeline Virginia Woolf
This is the only surviving recording of Virginia Woolf's voice. It is part of a BBC radio broadcast from April 29th, 1937. The talk was called "Craftsmanship" and was part of a series entitled "Words Fail Me".
