Thanks Maj Marty Hogan for letting us know that January 19 is the anniversary of the birth of American writer, editor, and literary critic Edgar Allan Poe who is best known for his poetry and short stories, particularly his tales of mystery and the macabre.
Rest in peace Edgar Allan Poe!
I read his complete works before I was teenager and enjoyed The Raven long before I had an appreciation for poetry.

I love reading Poe. To this day Tell-Tale Heart makes me have to use a night light to fall asleep—that’s good writing.

Seems when I hear of Edgar Alan Poe I can't help but think of stories such as the Telltale Heart, the Raven, Dorian Gray, the pit and the pendulum to name a few. Seems some of the horror movies made based on Poe's Vincent Price comes to mind as playing many of the parts. Peter Louree also come to mind on the movies based on Poe's books, A have read all those books an short stories plus of course have seen the movies others made based on His writings.
