Mr. Conservative: Barry Goldwater vs. the Religious Right
From the documentary "Mr. Conservative: Goldwater On Goldwater" (2006)
Thanks Maj Marty Hogan for letting us know that January 2 is the anniversary of the birth of American politician, businessman, and author Barry Morris Goldwater who was a five-term United States Senator from Arizona (1953–65, 1969–87) and the Republican Party's nominee for President of the United States in the 1964 election.
Barry Goldwater was a Libertarian in the classic sense. He opposed anything that was not specified in the U.S. Constitution for a Federal government role.
He opposed the 1964 Civil Rights Act, Pro-life acts and anything else that expanded government.
Rest in peace Barry Morris Goldwater.

Interesting man. He had some good ideas, just not the support to get elected. Arizona loved him. They named a lot of stuff after him.
