Great read SSgt Robert Marx I would ask what did they do before the storm to prep for a storm like this? I understand the force, but always interesting to see where they have been spending money in this realm prior to the event. Then to put it further into perspective- how would we be affected here CONUS with a natural disaster of this scale with lessons learned from Katrine and now Maria? Are we ever prepared?

I think this one two punch of back-to-back major storms, all in under a week, took the island by surprise with their proverbial pants down. Do not think less of those enterprises aboard PR for the mighty U.S.A. got hit badly in the south-east coast at the mouth of the Mississippi River at New Orleans, LA by Hurricane Katrina which came up as a solo level 4 storm and sunk, breached, otherwise destroyed the levee system organized decades earlier to absorb storm surge. Natural events can overwhelm human activity.

Thanks for sharing the update on Puerto Rico's recovery effort progress three months after Hurricane Maria his the island territory of the USA SSgt Robert Marx
Of course the benighted media which wanted to have the Federal government fail in efforts to rebuild and restore PR because they were opposed to the Trump Administration have dropped the post-Hurricane coverage in large part.
Unsurprisingly the island territory is making significant progress,

SSgt Robert Marx Great article. I really feel for the people. They have been devastated. They need a new structuring and I feel they should become a new state.
