Thanks Joe. I read it last night and read it again this morning. I must say, I'm very excited about the book.

I didn't vote for either Bush, but felt Bush 41 was competent.....Bush 43, not so much.....but I think he meant well. That said, the fact that none of our ex-presidents, including those of his own party, believe that Trump is a competent POTUS is a sobering thing. They know best what the job involves.....we should listen to them.

The problem is that Reagan really did not like the first Bush and just tolerated him because he needed a VP. I think had it not been for the nagging of Margaret Thatcher, there never would have been a first Gulf War.........then also there were the mixed signals sent by Bushs Ambassador that Saddam Hussien misread because the Bush Administration could not be absolutely clear with an ultimatum but chose instead warmed over mush.........which Iraq misinterpreted as a green light to invade Kuwait. So was that successful? What did the guy accomplish during his term as President that was historical or momentous?

The lack of "historical and momentous" is a good thing, it means nothing monumentally bad happened like is happening now with 45 trying to tear down our free press and institute authoritarian rule.

I'm a little more generous in what I think of Bush 43. Somewhat hapless, he let in a gang of Neocons and had 9/11. A serious of bad things happened, but to his credit, in his second term, he ran out the Neocons and banished Cheney to the Eisenhower Executive Office Building. He tried to negotiate an end to Iraq and worked on domestic policy. Well intentioned, but few things to point to as achievements.
