PO1 Tony Holland Gun control is the first thing people go to in the event of a shooting. Some people feel that they are helpless against the use of weapons, this is their attempt to do something about it by speaking out about their anger at the loss of lives and injured persons. They feel that as an individual they are unable to effect change so they speak out. There are many other things that can be done that are proactive in their communities they just don't see it. Weapons (Guns) are by far the weapon of choice for mass killings that's why we don't hear calls for doing a way with pressure cookers, nails, fertilizer, cars, uhaul trucks, knives..... all items used in mass murders. We are never going to be able to stop every individual from committing murder. We can make ourselves better able to recognize markers through education. We also need to change the mentality from "minding our own business" to reporting suspensions.

That article was not very enlightening. All the article is doing is participating in the blame game and blaming only the Republican Party and 'gun lobbyist' (another way of stating the NRA).
How very sad.
What people fail to understand that apparently from the Democratic side of the equation is a want of a 'mandate for control.'

Bingo. No mention of public sale of Semi to Full Auto conversion kits. No mention of mental illness, no mention of how he got all those rifles and ammo into a hotel room that we would hope is inspected daily. The whole article is based on politics vs objective look at the issue.
