Now that's a MAN! Three tours in A-stan as an Army Ranger. I salute you. You know what it means to serve under our flag and with the National Anthem echoing in the wind.

He is one of many nfl players who exercised their freedom today. This INCLUDES the players who took a knee during the anthem or stayed in the locker room. It's the exercise of this freedom that validates my service to the nation. I am ready to die protecting that freedom to sit, kneel, stand, etc. I will not participate or condone any attempt to take away that freedom.

I know of nobody that suggests that the government take away that freedom. There is no argument there. At the same time I will not participate in or condone any attempt to prevent criticism of those players that took a knee or supported taking a knee ... or those that give them a free pass for doing so. That, too, is a protected freedom.

OK, you'll have to elaborate on soft skin because I missed what that means exactly. I have no problem with people protesting either way. Should it be done during the National Anthem where it is just as divisive as burning the flag.........not so sure that is appropriate. And shouldn't some of these millionaire players put up some volunteer time or volunteer money towards this social cause vs just taking a knee? What happened to being a ROLE MODEL for a social issue and PART OF THE SOLUTION vs PART OF THE PROBLEM. I mean C'mon they have more days off and exponentially more money than almost all the posters reading this thread.

You should look up all the money and time many NFL players put into the community for various causes. I think you would be surprised because it rarely gets a lot of attention. But as to the protests, the problem will never really get improved until the general population recognizes it as a problem. So the protests call attention to a problem. Interestingly, when groups took to the streets, many complained about blocked traffic, the outbreak of violence by criminals mixed in with the marchers, etc. they said "why can't they protest peacefully and in a way that doesn't inconvenience anybody? The anthem protest does just that. It's silent, takes about two minutes, and doesn't interfere with the game at all.
But still their is massive outrage. People are saying it ruins their football and they can't watch anymore Really? Talk about thin skinned snowflakes. The fact is there is almost no other form of protest that is as benign as this one that can still reach a lot of people. IMO! The outrage is driven by those who don't want to have to think about the issue of police brutality, or who want to deny it is a problem. That's what they are really so upset about. Just like in the 1960s when it was like "oh, why do those negroes have to make such a bother about things".

LTC (Join to see) - So your argument is we have to really dig and research to find a role model in the African American Community. I wonder why that is? I don't seem to remember any NFL Player intricately involved in this issue beyond bitching to the press about it. When I turn on the press and I see the protest marches as well as the riots........no NFL Players. Yet they have the Financial Means and Media Celebrity to effect change in a lot of these nieghborhoods where some of them even come from. Just not seeing anyone of them step up to the place. Now if as you say the media is conspiring to hide this activity from the public........why do you suppose that is?

@ spc erich SPC Erich Guenther I'm not sure what you mean by digging to find examples. Just start with the "hated" Kaepernick and with a simple google you will see plenty about his contributions including to veteran orgs. But if you mean these stories never made headlines on foxnews or infowars, you probably right
