Trump's 'Made in America' week: the president's hypocrisy is on display

Many years ago a friend from Europe challenged me with this question: "What are you Americans going to do if we get our nations to join together like your states in one united nation, and start competing, really competing with you?" I responded that I was looking forward to it. That American manufacturers thrived on competition and that they were growing sloppy (especially auto manufacturers) for lack of real competition. Well, it seems that I was wrong. (Not the first time - and you'd understand what I mean if you ever met my first wife) They did start to compete. And the Japanese began to compete, with products that fit American roads. Cars built for the open roads and long distance driving, not those sporty little gas sippers for zipping around the alleyways of Europe and Japan. And did the American auto industry respond? Sadly, no. They kept building rolling brothels covering up their flaws with lots of chrome. It took a long time for American consumers to catch on. More than 20 years to catch on and they began purchasing imports. Even sadder, only one American manufacturer is coming around and competing these days. That's Ford. The others cried to Washington and the politicians bailed them out. Rather than firing inept management, they took their stipends from the government and continued the march to mediocrity. (No, actually mediocrity would be an improvement) Thus, if President Trump wants us to "Make America Great Again", he must apply a boot in the ass of stockholders and tell them, no more bailouts. You want to succeed? Start acting like you want to succeed. Start competing. And don't blame it on American workers. They're building great products for foreign manufacturers who have opened plants in America to take advantage of the lower shipping costs to bring raw materials to their assembly lines and lower shipping costs for delivering products to showrooms and retailers. We need leadership in commerce as well as government. We need to stop promoting bean counters to executive offices and electing them to government offices. We need real leaders and we need them badly.

Why are you posting something from a writer that is so obviously anti-Trump? I mean, that seems to be it's only point. The "author" of the article doesn't like Trump. Why does it talk about the flavor of the vodka? Who cares? As for the rest of the examples of things, Trump already addressed these issues in the run to the election.
Detroit is a bastion of Democrat power, and has been for the last 30+ years. If Detroit has failed, it's because Detroit's policies were shortsighted and stupid.
