Interesting perspective PO1 William "Chip" Nagel.
Since the XXVII Amendment simply states:
"No law, varying the compensation for the services of the Senators and Representatives, shall take effect, until an election of representatives shall have intervened."
When it was originally discussed around 1789, most senators and representatives had "day jobs" they returned to. Now we have a political class of Senators and Representatives who may spend the bulk of their working life as elected officials.

WRONG!!!! Paul Revere rode through the countryside rallying votes to approve this, but was sidelined by budget cuts that took his private insurance away from him due to pre-existing conditions with his horse, so. Lincoln took it up for a vote, but George Washington said "He CAN tell a lie, and it wasn't Booth, but Oswald who went on a twitter rampage". George Zimmerman personally freed the slaves, but shot them all being he didn't want to pay for their healthcare. So Andrew Jackson oversaw the confederate forces from the "Winter White House" 12 feet below the surface of the earth in his own soon to be grave. The Civil War which was launched from the Higgns Boats on landing on Miami Beach with Crocket and Tubs leading the way. The date was important being it was Black Friday and there wasn't a black to be found being Zimmerman killed all of em before getting in line at Walmart. Damn history classes......
