And there you have it. The dysfunctional US Congress has come full circle. From refusal to hold hearings for 11 months on a nominee to feel a justice vacancy to the nuclear option to push a nominee 2 months later. The Constitution only applies on partisan lines and the American mandate means nothing. Both parties embarrass our country and the principles of our Constitution.

The unfortunate truth is that neither party has any claim to anything resembling the moral high ground at all.
As the recent presidential election drew near the only consensus I could find among friends, family and even casual acquaintances was that neither candidate proved to be the clear choice. And that whichever one could consider to be the lesser of two evils came to be their pick on Election Day.
What a sad state of affairs we struggle through today.
