The "establishment clause" of the First Amendment was intended to protect freedom of religion from government interference. It was not intended to protect the government from religion. If the Johnson "Amendment" had altered the Constitution, we'd be stuck with it. However, it is an amendment to a law and should have been struck down as unconstitutional.

CPT Jack Durish - Again, right on bro. But you mean to say "prescribes" not "proscribes". Proscribing something is like forbidding it, I believe.

CPT Jack Durish - if you had read my legitimate comment about the fears of the founding fathers related to leaders of the Church of England interfering with our government, perhaps you could understand the context. Other facts exist that don't always support your opinions.

The was Jus on of many of the Amendments to laws Johnson Rammed they and they should have been repealed Long ago... But Many of the Democrats are still protecting The Johnson Legacy...
