SP5 Mark Kuzinski I'm skeptical based on the multiple usage of "may be" and "could be". Has it successfully been tested in combat situations? Have the weapons been tested successfully, or are we still in the "ideally this is how it will work phase"?
As far as I've read, the only frame that has shown it is combat ready is the Marine version. The Navy version had landing gear issues. And I really haven't heard anything about the Air Force frame as far as readiness.

SP5 Mark Kuzinski - 'zactly. An expensive way to find out your stuff didn't work. And it would only serve to embolden your enemy to know they can knock down your high priced, top of the line bird with a bottle rocket.

Speaking from US Navy experience the F/A-18 Hornet was bum-rushed into combat for Operation El Dorado Canyon (bombing of Libya 1986) and not only that, but she was carrying weapons that had only just been cleared (Harpoon/HARM). The two squadrons that flew performed well above spec and had no issues.

SP5 Mark Kuzinski - But combat is the best way to test the people that sell these weapon systems. I say we put these people on the ground and let ISIS know where they are and why, and then give these people the radio and let them do what we do when we call for help.
