"A court order requiring preservation of these emails is particularly necessary now as DHS has suggested that these officials may have been acting without authorization by sending emails from these accounts…. As such, there is no assurance that these officials will abide by a “request” by the agency to preserve these emails, particularly after their employment ends"

I find this truly amazing that the administration that billed itself as the most transparent in the history of the US should be guilty of this kind of obfuscation. Or maybe what is truly amazing is that these individuals thought that this was OK. Having been on active duty as we made the transition from paper communication to electronic communication I remember quite well all of the concern with losing valuable data and the need to control and retain this information for posterity. Now we have officials in positions of high authority who have abused that authority with the obvious intention of hiding their activities and communications. I find these actions criminal and believe Ms. Clinton, and Mr. Johnson, and any other government official that conducts themselves in this manner, should be held accountable and prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. Anyone who has ever had a security clearance has also been trained on appropriate methods of safeguarding information. Obviously, some people are not trainable.

There is no question ,this is criminal behavior. If you or I had done anything like this, it would be big jail time, with not much more than a whimper from our defense attorney.

The saddest part of the whole deal IMO is the fact that, 1. they don't think they are doing anything wrong 2. this is status quo 3. they think this is government transparency. I'm appalled- government is seriously lacking in ethics, integrity, MORALS. DRAIN THE SWAMP

And Congress is worried about the DNC (a non government entity) being hacked because of laziness and stupidity, when they should be worrying about the regular government employees and appointees blatantly ignoring the rules and best practices that have been in place for YEARS.

What an amazing surprise!! Another BHO appointee!! While the left is rabid about the possible misbehavior of the incoming Trump administration, once again here we have an actual case of illegal behavior with no possible motive except to conduct business out of sight of the law and the American public. Ah, but remember, they know what is best for us because their motives are noble in their own mind and worldview.
Never mind, nothing to see here. Continue with your Trump bashing for the incredible crimes of not buying the BHO BS.
