Thanks for honoring Chief Master Sgt. Kaleth Wright who has been selected as the next chief master sergeant of the Air Force SFC Joe S. Davis Jr., MSM, DSL.
It is interesting than senior NCO with hand-on dental experience has been selected as the next USAF chief master sergeant. I expect he will continue to use a "hands-on approach" in his new assignment.

I'm happy for him, he earned this. Proud of his accomplishments. BUT, is this not the way we are suppose to lead? This should be the norm not the exception.

You're absolutely correct, Col, this should be the norm. Unfortunately, I saw my share of both enlisted and commissioned who thought control, not example, was leadership. Even worse, I saw the progression upwards of those same people. While relatively small in number, their influence seemed out of proportion.

Hmm a leader from the front and not directing traffic from the office or the rear. Good luck Chief. Great share SFC Joe S. Davis Jr., MSM, DSL
