If there were a legitimate complaint I might applaud anyone using any opportunity to correct it. However, this protest is based on a false narrative. So while they have the right to "petition" for the redress of their grievances, they are wrong. While they sit, I will stand

It is indeed based on a false narrative, CPT Jack Durish. It started several years ago when the police in Boston acted "stupidly." It came to full flower in Ferguson and Baltimore. If the "sit down" had a real purpose, it would also acknowledge crimes committed against Dorothy Dow, Gene Dacus, and Jasmine Peters. And then it might be worthy of respect. But given the stated goals, I am only glad for the clear examples of hypocrisy that they provide.

I agree with the right to protest and this is included in it. That said, this isn't what I'd consider to be much of a legitimate issue to protest. This whining about 'oppression' is nonsense; if they really were 'oppressed', they'd be arrested.
