I firmly believe reparations were already paid in blood during the US Civil War. There were 620,000 KIA and 476,000 WIA so well over a million killed or wounded during the war in part to end slavery. We can all go back in history and find a wrong done to us by some power from the past.

It is a simple redistribution of wealth attempt. Since the money would come from the government and since all races pay taxes, in a twist of irony, blacks would be paying reparations to blacks. Races and people that never had slaves or were slaves would be paying reparations to people that never were slaves. It is a nonsensical issue that should be squashed every time it rears its head.

G-d, it's good to read a post that has common sense and not trying to be cute.

Thank you.

TSgt Craig Crews In my opinion the meat of the issue is some feel entitled to have things for past transgressions and look for the deep pocket to go to get it. There were a lot of dirty hands in the slave trade going back thousands of years. Where does it stop? At what point to people accept responsibility for their actions, station in life etc.?

Good morning,

Does Egypt owe the Jews for the 400 years of bondage? What about 600 years of the Roman Empire. Don't they owe everyone?

The logic being displayed by those who want minorities to feel aggrieved does not hold water. Of course, I am aware of slavery in world history. So, let us skip to meat of the subject. To me, that subject is: "I am owed something due to race."

There are quite a few hard chargers here on RP that are dark green. I am a light green killer who's kind was kicked out of Ireland and England for killing the King's deer. A vicious accusation that has never been proven I might add. But, I don't expect the Queen to give me a nice Estate for the hardship of being sent to a New World and hacking some kind of life out of a place vacated by the native population form war and disease. Has America moved forward?

Isn't America the only country you can think of that has tried to right it's wrongs? Look at yourself. If you are reading this did you worked your way out of some kind of hole to bring honor to yourself and your family name? I did. My Father told me to get off my arse and get a job.

The Democrat Plantation has destroyed the Black family and is working on the rest of us. By destroying the middle class through NAFTA, GAT and the EPA. We are being pitted against one another due to race. As emotional humans, we can not see the real enemy.

The enemy murdered JFK, RFK and MLK. Now, our country is at the cliff face. Race relations and grievance is one part to push us over the edge. We have to be smart. We have to pull together as a team and not be divided by color.

I judge everyone here by what you have done and what you are doing. Not, by the color of your skin. It is my opinion, G-d has ordained each and every one of you human beings.

SP5 Christine Conley - Awareness of what is happening is the next step. Emotions are running high. Humans are very emotional. That trait is being used against us. IMO

This about sums it up for me. People really need to get real and recognize they are not special snowflakes. We are all human beings, of equally worth or equally worthless depending on your perspective. I think the Gunny is about right.

I swear, my senior drill instructor sounded just like that. Plus, that barracks could have been the barracks I stayed in. LMAO. But, not as a recruit. That would cost me.
