A pilot program designed to solve the U.S. Military Academy’s top problem with prior-service candidates could help those candidates, even the unsuccessful ones, succeed outside of West Point.
Fort Campbell, Kentucky, hosted the first Rapid Application Completion Exercise last month, with about 75 soldiers on hand to tackle a deceptively simple mission.

SFC Joe S. Davis Jr., MSM, DSL I was an enlisted man who was accepted to USMA West Point in June 1976 and graduated in May 1980. I went to the USMA Preparatory School (USMAPS) after I left Ft Campbell where I was assigned in A Co 20th Engineer (Combat).
I know of several of my West Point classmates who went directly from enlisted rank to be accepted as cadets without going through USMAPS. MAJ Ken Landgren
