A year ago, The US Navy only defended itself but did not hit Iran-backed Houthis in Yemen firing missles at the US Navy and commercial shipping. After a month, the US Navy finally was given permission to strike Yemeni missle sites.
Ships avoided the Suez Canal and the Red Sea. Commercial shipping prices skyrocketed because they had to go around the Horn of Africa adding 9 days and thousands of miles to arrive at their destinations. This also led to longer turn-around times and increased demand for shipping containers.
The result was more profits for ZIM and Shareholders like me.
