A message from the General: “Thank you each for your service. Thank you also for giving me the opportunity to answer your questions and I hope you’ll enjoy Team of Teams.”
From the RallyPoint Team:
This May, General McChrystal is releasing his new book: "Team of Teams: New Rules of Engagement for a Complex World"
In the book, "McChrystal and his colleagues show how the challenges they faced in Iraq can be relevant to countless businesses, nonprofits, and other organizations. The world is changing faster than ever, and the smartest response for those in charge is to give small groups the freedom to experiment while driving everyone to share what they learn across the entire organization."
You can learn more about the book here: http://www.amazon.com/Team-Teams-Rules-Engagement-Complex/dp/ [login to see]

Sir, First this is amazing that you are on here answering questions. Thank you for your time you are giving for this.
We have had several question threads on Rallypoint, one specifically I would like to know the answer from you as a expert in leadership. If you could put any one person in the office of the President of the United States who would it be, and why?

Sir, Could you provide any comments or suggestions as applied to Talent Managment within the Army personnel system? What is your opinion of the current state of Talent Management? What could be done better in order to maintain high performing potential leaders? Thank you for your leadership and continued influence!

GEN Stanley McChrystal Sir,
Did you read "Lying to Ourselves: Dishonesty in the Army Profession"? If so, what are your thoughts on this piece? As the future of the Army, we junior-to-mid-grade officers and NCOs know that we can only change the very little with which we come in contact. We also know that we are swimming against a cultural current of what is actuality and what is reported, vide the report. What practical steps can junior-to-mid-grade officers and NCOs take to effect change within their spheres of influence? How can we do this in a way which doesn't compromise our careers and ourselves (Not being a careerist but a CPT can do very little for the Army big-picture and can do less still if he destroys his career), supports our commander's intent, but doesn't support this cultural morass?

Sir, Welcome. Today, I will have the opportunity to be a fly on the wall for the FORSCOM Commander's Forum where the Corps and Division CDRs and CSMs will gather to discuss issues affecting the force. If you had 15 minutes with that audience, what would you say them?

It is an honor to speak with you, Sir.
My question is: do you think of a possible intervention in Libya?
The solution to the problems of this country, pass through the military option?

There is a new political party that has been in existence for over a year now. Already we have recognized status in three states and elected party members. It's called the Veterans' Party of America. Despite the name we welcome all Americans. Have you considered a run for political office, if so would you consider running with a third party such as the VPA?

I am curious about your thoughts on America's military might being under UN control. My thoughts are it would be unconstitutional; however preserving and protecting the U.S. constitution seem to be the abnormal in today's media and political arena. Do you see U.N. control happening?

Sir,
Thank you for your time, and for fielding our questions here at RallyPoint.
In this period of rapid drawdown/force shaping, what should the Army's #1 priority be?
(In complete transparency, giving credit where credit is due, this question was initially posed--as a poll--by CPT(P) (Join to see) on THIS thread, and it has garnered quite a bit of interest and discussion: https://www.rallypoint.com/answers/should-sharp-be-the-1-priority-for-the-army-right-now)
The poll options are the following: Suicide, Pay & Benefits, SHARP, Equal Opportunity, and Draw Down....but, some did answer with a different option/rationale than those provided in the poll....)
Thank you, Sir.
