Tricare. There is too much uncertainty for us (military and families) the way it is. The last thing we need is to face the ridiculosness that is happening in the civilian world. What a mess...

I'm a reservist, and I don't think that most RA recognize just how wonderful military healthcare is. It ain't the best in the world per se, but for the price, it's an amazing benefit. Many of my USAR peers have recently come off RA, and they are amazed by how generous a benefit it is. They're also amazed to find out that even though they may make 15K-20K more on the outside, that money disappears quickly when paying for your food, healthcare, and living expenses without a dime from your employer!

Excellent question!!

A few years ago, I would have taken the money and gone private sector. Now with the new healthcare law and all the insurance problems people are having, I think I'd stick with Tri-Care.
