Sure wish I could have gone. The wife and I both really wanted to be there but couldn't find anyone to horse, dog and cat sit. Feeding the horses requires a bit of work plus we would have had to have left the keys to our SxS so.....
I'll bet it was awesome. Did you make it Gunny?

This is a little late but here is a link to the Smithsonian Page which shows diagrams of each of the planes from the bottom.

I wish, though. That's almost too much AWESOME to handle. I've always wanted to see some of these old bombers.

I was there a few weeks ago.  I've visited my grandfathers grave at Arlington a couple times.  it's always overwhelming to see the fields of white.

That's nearly a two day drive for me, so unfortunately, no. What an awesome idea though. Hopefully some good video will hit the internet sometime.

Since I see that you are in WI (my home state), I assume you've been to Oshkosh?

I've been to the EAA museum, but never the fly-in. It has never worked out. Every summer I promise myself I'll go, but I haven't yet. The museum is awesome though, so I imagine the flyin is even better!

Another great museum is the Dick Bong museum in Superior. They have one of his P-38 lightenings restored. His first one was destroyed by another pilot while Bong was on leave.

I was in Superior a couple of years ago and had planned to stop at the Dick Bong museum --- unfortunately, it didn't work out and I left without getting to the museum.
