Multicam Aircrew combat top, any reason it wouldn't be authorized?

When I was in Afghanistan I was able to snag me one of these tops(would blow your mind the crap left behind) and I recently uncovered it in my stuff packing for AT and forgot how thin and comfortable they are, any reason they wouldn't be authorized currently? For those who haven't seen one, these are made of a different material, they have zippers on the shoulder pockets(like the new uniform) zippers on the chest pocket, velcro covering the pen slots and velcro on the side to made the top tighter/looser. Damn thing looks brand new and I know in the past I've seen soldiers wearing the ACU version, but I figured I would ask if anyone knew anything about these.

It isn't authorized unless worn with the bottoms. In fact so many infantry CSM's get jealous of the flight uniforms that they try to go berzerk over the word "approriate":
6–3. Occasions for wear
a. All-purpose wear.
Soldiers may wear the aircrew uniform on duty when prescribed by the commander for flight
operations. The aircrew uniform is not intended for wear as an all-purpose uniform when other uniforms are more appropriate.

SPC(P) (Join to see) - The different material is Nomex. This uniform is designed to allow an aircrew member to survive a flash fire for a few seconds. The uniforms cost a ton compared to regular uniforms because of the material. Air crew also have to wear different boots than are authorized for the rest of the force.

Wow that's pretty bad-ass, I can only imagine how much they must cost considering how the normal issued multicams were over $100 per top and bottom individually. Soo what i'm hearing is be on the lookout for some sweet Aircrew bottoms correct? :D

SPC(P) (Join to see) - The ACU pattern A2CU's do make decent hunting clothing. Not that I would ever.... well I'm retired lol.

Yeah, when I was in a CAB they were trying to give me 4 sets of A2C2s. They looked like I was crazy when I refused them. I then told them that I was a signal tech warrant and that my CO would skin me alive if I came in wearing them.

SPC(P) (Join to see) roger that, 'one team one fight" it should be good to go! Good read and share.

This type of uniform is only authorized for flight and fuel mos while in performance of their duties. (Or all day if they're on standby or have a constant airfield/Motorpool duty) it is not authorized for a non fight/fueler mos
