Ringing? The tinnitus in my ears is so loud, it drowns out the locusts in summer, I kid you not.

I am happy for you but it has been over 50 years for me and even in day time I see body parts float in front of my eyes and asking why I murdered them.

So sorry to hear of this tragic occurrence...war memories are an unfortunate & unavoidable part of battle. Hope you have a support system to assist with your on-going ‘battles’. Sgt Ivan Boatwright

SPC Nancy Greene - When I first began to deal with PTSD, I went to several different clinics for help. When the first Iraq war started I went to the Biloxi VA hospital. The treatment that helped me the most was being on an imaginary airplane every day for about two weeks. We flew back to Vietnam and relieved each incident. At night, I was a total wreck, I had been remodeling a workshop out back in my shop. I did so-call work until I slept on the floor. I thought about everything during my working time. (What I worked on was not very well done) Much of what I thought about has been blocked from my memory, possibly from exhaustion, overload, etc. Later I began writing stories and facing my demons. It took years but now those bodies in front of me serve as a reminder of what bad choices cause. They serve to remind me to be a better person and work for the good of mankind. (I believe that is why many combat vets become ministers.) I do feel sadness when I see them but at the same time, I am encouraged to strive for a better world.
