If you are anywhere near SW Missouri, we have a local group called K-9s for Camo out of Rogersville. They take rescue dogs, train them in behavior utilizing prisoners in classes at the Fordland prison. They provide support dogs to vets who need them at no cost. It's good for the dogs, good for the prisoners, good for the vets. This is their Facebook page- https://www.facebook.com/K9sforCamo/

If you need more help, let me know. I met John Lopez, the guy who runs the place, just day before yesterday.

Start with an interview with your VA primary care physician. Also, do a google search for service dog agencies in your area. For example, mine is VSDO, Grand Rapids Michigan. They could probably hook you up with someone near you. I got lucky. The PTSD almost had me, when a concerned individual donated a Dachshund puppy and help from a trainer to me. Now, Buddy is my constant companion who keeps me from giving up. I can tell from here that you need a Service Dog. Look, seek, ask, don't stop until you make objective.

PO3 Violet Smith many therapists have information on organizations that can assist because therapists do recommend service dogs for patients so they have outreach to resources.
