What I've noticed about MSMs is that each command has organizational requirements on how they must be written. From MEDCOM for a WTB award to AMC from Afghanistan and IMCOM in Europe. I site these as samples. They were all written so differently because of the red tape and requirements placed on the units.

I say all this to recommend you talk to your S1 and ask for samples of successful MSM write ups.

^This. I have an MSN that required a narrative and I have a second that was simply on a DA 348 as the reg. requires.

I don't have a specific example but the Army Writer website is a pretty good place you can start. http://www.armywriter.com/msm-award-bullets.htm
