SUPER POWERFUL US Military NUCLEAR artillery gun historic footage
A great historic video of US military testing a nuclear armed artillery gun. The M65 Atomic Cannon, often called Atomic Annie,[3] was a towed artillery piece...
Atomic Annie, the first of the Atomic Field Artillery Cannon. Imagine you are on the crew of this Gun? What would your thoughts be?

Does not look like a very mobile gun...
Better get them all the first time.

As it happens, my first assignment was as an assembler in a M110A2 howitzer battery... Did not want to pull the lanyard on that one.

Thoughts after lanyard pulled: "Work, work, work."
First thoughts after nuclear detonation: "Woe and wow. It worked."
I highly respect that crew and the associated engineers and scientists in that video.
As a major, I served on a scientific assessment team for one of the last underground nuclear tests. My thoughts then: "Awesome."
And for the most part, our military equipment undergoing survivability testing took a licking and kept on ticking.
