We are 15 years into the 100 years we're talking about. My prediction is none of the 11 most game-changing aircraft of the 21st Century have even been imagined yet.

So was the F-14. What about the ME-262?

SPC (Join to see) - The Me262 wasn't the only jet in late WW2. The British had one as well, the Meteor made by Gloster.

F-35 Lightning II fills a gap that has been getting wider with the F-14 Tomcat and the AV-8 Harrior getting to the end of their live span. This aircraft meet most of both and can also address some thing left open in the boming roll the F-14 and the with the F-18 Hornet. We need an aircraft that can fill the gaps left and the F-35 is heading into a good position to do that. Hopfully is is as successfully as the F-15 Eagle meet its design capabilitys.
