Has any Soldier experienced an early morning recall formation and the commander announced that he/she is doing a 100% Height/Weight check? Is there a regulation that justify this action?

I think this is an AWESOME way to spot-check Soldiers remain in accordance with standards!
More commanders should take such initiative.

Wow you are just a terrible human being huh, fuck the soldiers and their families right. These types of actions can be done during normal hours and not interfere with soldiers personal time. Dont fuck with a soldiers food, sleep or personal time unless you want to kill moral. Just goes to show how out of touch senior leaders are with enlisted and junior enlisted soldiers

Army Command Policy 600-20
4–2. Obedience to orders
All persons in the military service are required to strictly obey and promptly execute the legal orders of their lawful
seniors.
BLUF, if the CDR calls you to a formation to conduct a UA, a body fat test, an APFT, a police call, etc. it is your duty to be there. One may not agree with the CDR's reasoning, but the end of the day our oath of enlistment states that we will obey "the orders of the officers appointed over me" because they are appointed to a position of authority and responsibility. Unless his orders are unlawful, unethical or immoral, than there is no leg to stand on.
If at the end of the day, one is concerned over this issue because they are above the authorized body fat percentage and they were caught off guard and couldn't perform drastic measures to make tape because of no warning, than that's an individual issue. There really is no excuse for this either. Unless one is exempt due to medications that they are on and that is even a tough straw to pull. It is a PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITY to ensure one is able to pass APFT and height/weight at all times. With recent changes, they can no longer do these within 7 days of each other (unless not feasible), so if you received a surprise height/weight, than I would expect a surprise APFT in the near future.

CDR is the boss, in the service we are subject to formation 24/7 I have had ERDEX call ups at 3 am on a Saturday just to see how well phone trees work as well as because the CDR had a case of the butt because a good percentage of the unit had been involved in a bar brawl that morning. showed up in the Rattle, thinking from there we were going to the airfield for deployment. Once assembled there was a UA, and tape tests done on the spot and had paperwork updated. there are a myriad of reasons a formation can be called. Our CO, just happened to make maximum use of the time that was being used, and it all started as a group punishment. (He had been woken up to go to the drunk tank in town, PD wanted the CO because there were so many in trouble) so decided to expand the fun. However, we got a lot of things done that morning that were needing to be done.
