When I was stationed in Baumholder, Germany, with the 708th Maintenance Battalion, the post maintained a photo lab where soldiers and dependents could develop and print film. Is it common for posts to maintain such facilities these days?

with the advent of digital cameras and cell phones, film has become a dying art. Posts do not maintain such facilities these days due to lack of significant demand and the costs involved

Agree, I don't even think TASC or Visual Information have used film in like 10 years at least.

SP5 Ralph Barker I still have photos that were developed and printed in Camp Casey’s photo lab in 1955. It was between the 7th Engineers and the 31st Infantry. Yep, the small, adjacent PX is where I bought a LeCoultre (sp), watch on sale!!
