How many people participate on RallyPoint on a regular basis? Daily? Weekly? Monthly? Even Annually?

My ranking leads me to believe that I am one of more than 750,000 veterans registered on RP. How many active duty members are there? How many have died? How many registered, looked around and moved on? How many hung around a while until they got bored or were lured away by some other shiny new website? How many went away offended?
Why do I ask?
It seems that I see the same few faces responding to the same posts by other frequent visitors, daily visitors. Yes, I'm one of those and I too wonder if I shouldn't be doing something more useful with my time. I keep threatening to get back to writing stories but keep stopping by here to share my thoughts with any who might care to read them, or to share a few jokes with any whom might need a chuckle.
But recently I share something important, a tragedy that has visited one of our own. I thought it a worthy cause to donate my money and alert others to here on RallyPoint. Thus far, the response has been tepid. No, it didn't even rise to the level of "tepid".
I know that we didn't serve expecting to become wealthy. Indeed, for many, maybe most, every dollar counts. Still it seemed reasonable that this cause was worthy of even a little help.
A little girl, the daughter of one of our own is struggling with cancer. Her father reached out for help by establishing a GoFundMe account. His request was modest. Just $15,000. Imagine if just 2% of the registered RP veterans donated $1, he would have succeeded. Sadly, it hasn't happened.
That's why I ask: How many are participating on RP regularly? I can't imagine that many would walk away from this tragedy.

One problem I have with this site is there a lots of folks I'd love to follow because their posts are so interesting. But I don't know how to do so unless they specifically mention me. I have the groups I follow, but that's not enough for me. If someone could explain how to follow individuals, that would help. Most of these people are in my contact list, but I only find their posts by accident sometime. And I think expecting everyone to mention a bunch of folks every time they comment is a bit much.

If you want to follow specific people, then send a ‘connect’ request & then, they can mention you...that’s how I stay connected’ with people & groups...following groups keeps you in their ‘loop’.SGT Robert Pryor

SPC Nancy Greene - I do follow groups, and try to list groups when I start a thread. But take you, for example. I really like reading your posts, but don't know when you make them. It seems like asking you, or anyone else, to mention me every time you post is asking too much. I'd like there to be a way where I can just see the posts you, and a number of others here on this forum, make, without expecting folks to make an extra effort to alert me.

I like reading your posts! I have only made a couple of posts... I just comment to other people’s posts. I follow humor, music, & Vietnam history on a regular basis. The rest is just ‘hit it miss’. I do everything from my iPhone at this time, so my technology is extremely limited. Once my office is completed, I’ll be able to ‘post’ & ‘share’ a lot more. Hope you are doing well!SGT Robert Pryor

CPT Jack Durish I don't know how many of us are on here. There are a fair number of requests for help; sometimes even Col Burroughs requests don't seem to get much traction. I did donate and I reposted to FB. I will pray for the little one

CPT Jack Durish I don't participate NEARLY as much as I used to. As you are well aware of, it has become a competition to see who can post first w/o really saying anything in that post. It used to be a place to come to get advice, make connections, share ideas, etc. I don't see the people I connected with so long ago even on the site too much anymore, other than SFC James J. Palmer IV aka "JP4", really.
Also get extremely tired of duplicated posts/mass posts of photos. It has, sadly, lost the intent it was created for, it seems.

Kerry, I still enjoy RP on my terms...don’t try to ‘keep up’ with anything, just enjoy the content...humor, music, & history seem to maintain my interest. BTW, if you want more information on SM, contact me via email!Sgt (Join to see)
