Your ruck sack is equipment not uniform, I would not worry about wearing it with civilian attire. Anyone who gets a hair across their ass because you’re doing PT on block leave is not a person worth listening to or worrying about. All that being said, make sure your ruck isn’t jacked up with straps dangling everywhere, it makes you look like a soul sandwich.

Speaking of loose straps and soup sandwiches, is there a handy guide available showing how to take care of all those straps?

No one is gonna care that you have an Army ruck on your back during block leave. Chances are people will just figure you got it at a surplus store. And if anyone does give a shit and gives you shit....that person has way too much time on their hands

Speaking of surplus, it's not a bad idea to buy a surplus ruck, keep one at work, and use the spare for PT.
When you clear CIF, turn in whichever one looks worse for the wear.

Sure wear it. You can buy the US stamped ones on amazon too. If someone says something about it they have too much time on their hands. Load it up and do some rucking to stay in shape while on leave. Enjoy your time off!
