Had someone I know recently get a DWI and they were going to put in a re-enlistment package soon. Any pointers or idea what will happen?

Your stuff is all jacked up. Are you an Army 11B or are you a Lance corporal in the Marines? These are different Retention programs

Recent DWI? I don't think ANY recruiter is going to want to touch that one. But, the only way to know for sure is to have your friend walk into a recruiting office and ask to find out.

Sgt (Join to see) - So he is still in? If that's the case, that is going to all depend on how the Command processes his NJP. First stop for your friend, is the Retention NCO that serves his unit. He shouldn't hold his breath, though.

Sgt (Join to see) - is the service member barred? Has the command dealt with the DWI yet? Cutting to the chase if he is found to have committed that offense and the command handles it via NJP, he'll likely be barred to reenlist and be administratively separated. If they handle it via Courts Martial and if found guilty, I'd bet you a cup of coffee that he'll be separated in conjunction with his sentence.

I had an experience with this in Army regular. He or she will be met with many frowns, stern looks, but I doubt if one dwi would bar one from re-upping, assuming it was a " run of the mill" driving while intoxicated.
