Pound sand. It's so much more PC than what you really mean. Also, "Operator head-space and timing."

Back in my sergeant days, my troopies knew what to expect when I would pull my headspace and timing gauge out with no Ma Deuce in sight.

We have a leader on DCOs that always states "I have the stick." I get it- old flight guy, but now a med guy and your phrase sounds like a green dot nightmare.....
