Why are Vietnam War Veterans and Korea War Veterans forgotten ?
My guess is that it may have something to do with the media. We (all military members) are generally portrayed in a positive light in the media today. Whether that's a reflection of society or society reflects what they see in the media, I don't know and it probably doesn't matter. For whatever reason, today's vets get more respect.
And there are "welcome home" events for Vietnam veterans to this day. I've seen them discussed right here on RallyPoint. Maybe this series about Vietnam in the RallyPoint Command Post area will help answer your question:
