For those of us who grew up or had come of age during the Vietnam Era the music was mind blowing/boggling depending which side of the fence you were on. My question is this: Is the music of the Vietnam Era coming back into relevance in today's America?

Why or Why Not?

There is music like CCR, Dylan and Buffalo Springfield, the great Jimi Hendrix, Joan Baez and The Rolling Stones. A lot of tearful and contradictory emotions associated with the events of the day. Kent St, JFK, RFK, MLK, the list goes on and on and on.

Good to know, SSgt (Join to see), that though we may disagree on other issues, we certainly have similar taste in music.

CPT (Join to see) Indeed my friend. Nothing personal and I like and respect officers. I dealt with pilots almost all day and I had their backs....

I've always found it relevant, and most of it good (in fact preferable to modern Pop, to me at least).

I can also add the the young Cadets I work with enjoy when I pop on the Forrest Gump Soundtrack. Further, we do a whole lesson about Protest in my Ethics Course, and I play many songs from the 60s. The Cadets seem to "dig" it :)

I ‘m happy to know you are teaching real history and not trying to erase it! You don’t hear this in schools today and I am always sharing history with my granddaughter. I lived through a lot of it and became a small tiny piece of it!
