Secretary of State John Kerry Stated, "this is a fight that belongs to the Iraqis. That is exactly what the president and the world decided
some time ago when we left Iraq, so we are not obviously contemplating returning. We are not contemplating putting boots on the ground. This is their fight. ... We will help them in their fight, but this fight, in the end, they
will have to win and I am confident they can"

What are your thoughts about the United States pouring more money and resources into Iraq?

SGT Cotton,
Great question, but I think its too late for money to have an affect and the fight is already close to the gates of the green zone. If the Iraqi PM is fired and replaced and the Kurds will work with the Iraqi Army they have all they need to destroy ISIS forces in Iraq. I don't know if the will is there.

There are lot of problem with the Kurds, and all this talk of helping them, they are more fractionalize than Iraq. What everyone fails to realize, their have been rebellions in Turkey, Iraq, Iran, and Syria going on since the end of WWII on and off. All independent of one of another, against their own government, many time organized and supported by a neighboring government in order to bring disorder to the sitting government of their neighbors. It is amazing that ISIS/ISIL/IS has so much success in Iraq, but in parts of Syria held by other rebels group, but it seems not be moving to swiftly held by Syria Government which it supposedly has as much problem with. Just an observation at this point.

PV2 Abbott Shaull ISIS/ISIL/IS, whatever their name today is, does not seem to do well fighting a bunch of Kurdish women. I agree with SFC Matthew Parker for there to be a measure of success, the Iraqi's and Kurds need to work together. As long as there is division, the terrorist will win. That is sort of how they got such a foothold in Iraq anyway, divide and conquer.

The terrorist were hoping we pulled out soon. Honestly, it was the US that kept the different factions together. regardless of what one thinks about what should/could have been, the bottom line is, the terrorists are taking over Iraq. The only hope to defeat them is if all the factions come together for a common cause.

If they can't learn to put there differences aside and try to work together no amount of money or support from anywhere will help.

It is very well documented, that not all Muslims are equal fighters. Depending on where one comes from and traditions, and values they grew up with. ISIS/ISIL/IS is not a group from one tribe, it is band of people who come together under a common believe, much like the U.S. Military is. Just different brand of organizations. The Kurdish women, well I am not surprise, lets say they have had some OTJT over the years.

US Foreign Policy is an interesting animal.  We have money going all over the place and to countries that I need a map to find out where it is located.  With regards to Iraq, this is something that we should have as seen as on the horizon.  Funding is one thing.  Boots on the ground is another.  The former is much better in my book than the latter.

Yes, throwing cash and other support at corrupt system will help them to fail even on Greater scale again.
