I joined the Army National Guard back in 2009. I have deployed to Fob Sharana, Afghanistan for a period of 12 months. I am currently an Assistant Squad Leader in my Engineering Unit. I am currently finishing my Bachelors Degree In Emergency and Disaster Planning.

Squad Leader
•Work with local and State agencies to respond to local disasters.
•Plan for required structural reconstruction based on damaged caused by disasters, whether man-made or natural.
•Analyze the information on grade stakes and placing them
•Drive bulldozers, roadgraders and other heavy equipment to level earth
•Clear, grub, strip, excavate, backfill, stockpile and push scraper with tractor crawler
•Cut and spread fill material with scraper
•Transport heavy construction equipment with tractor-trailer
•Assist in performance of engineer missions

During this deployment I spent the first 6 months as the PSD for my Commander and First Sergeant.
In the last half of my deployment I was the unit S1.
