let's try to finish it up here with a different question. How can we Improve the Employment section of RallyPoint?

Please privde your thoughts and ideas on how we can imporve the employment connection here on RallyPoint - I think that is a different question and may not get merged!

Would like feedback from Civilian Supporters, Recruiters and RP Members.

COL ,
I am Cleared Sr. Talent Acquisition Business Partner for Northrop Grumman. I believe the employment section on Rally Point should be open like the what Recruiters had on LinkedIn before all the rules changed and they started blocking peoples job announcements etc. First off give recruiters the chance to post their positions and promote their job fairs. When I first joined Rally Point I could not post anything, My account was constantly being locked up. Because of the traffic I was causing. I think that if you allow companies to post their jobs in a open free section, It will grow very big and could be very successful I would try it out and see. Networking is the number one way I find talent for my open positions. Let the civilians openly network with talent on this site.

Your Security level & general job experience can be discussed @ the UNCLAS level & should be a + with Defence-related firms like Lockheed, Northrup Grumman, Raytheon

I agree with Moe Kader. An open forum to promote hiring events and specific openings would be great.

Make it affordable with a good ROI for the employer. I was astounded at the cost for RP. I would spend money on a well known, heavily used job seeker site and have the ROI I would expect. I understand RP needs to generate revenue, but you would make more profit with more employers participating than they few employers that are going to exhaust their search on RP by seeing only the same job seekers interested in those particular companies. Since I am a veteran, and I do not pay for RP services, I typically just post on the jobs page, or direct sourcing with possible candidates. So if RP is not recruiter/employer friendly many employers simply will go elsewhere to find candidates.

I would also improve the search functions on RP... it is very basic and not the most useful search process!

SFC Adam Potter thank you for your input. It is very valuable to RP as we are working on improvements. What are the things you would like to be added to search functions? What will be the most helpful to you and professionals like you? Thank you!

(Join to see) - It has been a while since I have visited the search function, as there was not much value there. I revisited today, and noticed some changes. I used to be able to see easily people who had identified themselves as job seekers, it appears this may have gone away. Unless it was put into the "premium" search functions, which appears to be an additional fee to use.
It would be great if the search function ran on Boolean search strings, easily identify who is looking for a job and be able to connect with that individual. In my opinion, the more success employers have with RallyPoint, the more they will use it and bring in advertising/promotion dollars. Right now there are "barriers" that makes me just go to LinkedIn and type in "Veteran" AND "Job Seeker" and I can easily pull a list of current job seekers and it costs me nothing.
Feel free to message me for contact information, and I would be happy to share more detailed thoughts with you.
Regards,
Adam

Affordable? How about free? With recruiting dollars so limited, any cost to post can be a barrier to many employers.

Jonathan Liepe - If you want to offer a solution for cost, those employers that want to setup an Enterprise Agreement to have ALL jobs scraped from their company jobs page could pay a nominal fee for such a service as there is value in the time savings component.
