"Unlike the USAR and the ARNG, Canadian Reserve Units or soldiers are not obligated to go down range." ... What!?! There must be some aspect or context that is missing from that statement.

If not, then it sounds like you're saying the Canadian Reserve units/soldiers are a volunteer auxiliary to their Armed Forces instead of a reserve component to the Canadian Armed Forces.

Here In Vegas, Just Down The Road From My Place, Is Nellis AFB
Where They Train Bombers & Jet Fighter Pilots With Allies, World Wide.
And When They Hold "Red Flag" Training, The Entire Are Sounds Like
Rolling Thunder, Our Windows Rattle,The House Shakes, Pictures Sway On
The Walls, And My Roof Sounds As If It's A Landing Strip. But That AIN'T Noise
That's The Sounds Of FREEDOM

I Recall Early One Evening When I Was Walking A Post
And A B-52 Mechanic Was Working On An Engine ~
He Didn't See Me Nor Did I See Him; Just I Walked Behind The B-52 As
He Was Cranking Up The Engine For A Test ~~ WHOA Nellie, The Blast Of Hot Wind

Happened & Was Laughing As Much As Me.
