About
The Civil Affairs Recruiters are here to not only assist those interested Soldiers in processing their packet to attend Civil Affairs Assessment and Selection (CAAS), but to spread the knowledge throughout the Army of what SOF Civil Affairs is and does.
Current requirements to attend CAAS (try out for CA) as of 11SEP2020 are:
Enlisted E3-E6 (E3 NLT 1yr TIS, E4 NMT 6yrs TIS, E5 NMT 8yrs TIS, E6 3-10 yr TIS & NMT 5 yr TIG)
Officer Year Group 17 (18 opens 4 January 2021)
GT score 100 or greater
APFT of at least 210/70 each event (no ACFT)
SERE Physical
US Citizen
Able to obtain a SECRET clearance
No UCMJ within 2 years
Currently NOT accepting sister service - see PSYOP or SF for that
All admin waivers (TIS/TIG, GT Score, moral) require a waiver request memo, and the last 3 NCOERs, as well as being highly recommended to have 1-3 Letters of Recommendation from Officers/Senior NCOs.
Behavioral health waivers (if you've EVER seen behavioral health - not a DQ, just need a waiver) require a waiver request memo.
Medical waivers will be done on USASOC form 1181 - obtained from Recruiter
