Reorganized and redesignated 24 November 1943 as Headquarters and Headquarters Detachment, 3d Chemical Battalion, Motorized
Reorganized and redesignated 11 March 1945 as Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 3d Chemical Mortar Battalion
Inactivated 2 January 1946 at Camp Patrick Henry, Virginia
Activated 18 September 1950 at Fort Bragg, North Carolina
Allotted 25 May 1951 to the Regular Army
Inactivated 5 February 1953 at Fort Bragg, North Carolina
Redesignated 9 November 1954 as Headquarters and Headquarters Detachment, 3d Chemical Battalion
