Got to disagree with you re. those conducting the hazing. There should be no doubt in anyone's mind that in today's military hazing is not tolerated. Things have changed a lot on this issue from when we were on Active Duty, back then I'd have gone the LOR route as well, but in today's military this is a throw the book at them offense IMO.

I think it depends on what exactly was done. I have seen everything from teasing or hiding someone's stuff to actual physical abuse described as "hazing". That's why blanket responses don't work for me.

In the late 70's early 80's, I saw (and heard of) some recalcitrant recruits receiving an attitude readjustment from the DS. The military operated better in those days as the carrot or stick option was generally always an available but rarely needed tool. Under the leadership of limp d*_ked political types that disappeared along with "School of the Soldier" and other forms of non-official get-your-attention activities.

The last war fought under the old school was Desert Storm. There we fought a limited war for limited aims but with unlimited assets ... we really cleaned their clocks. Fast forward a decade to the post Clinton era and Bush 43 finds himself in an unlimited war for unlimited aims, but with very limited assets. Even with herculean efforts the single pro-national defense president could not make headway against the rising tide of progressive-ism. I apologize for probably wandering a little far from my original subject.

Nonsense. Marines who act like idiots and ignore the orders of their superiors aren't worth having in the Corps.

How do we know that the marines were honorable or had careers worthy of being salvaged?
