As I gear up for WOCS, my first week of WOBC I will be putting my wish list for what assignments I want to request. Talking to recent WO1s, they were able to get their first choice.
Looking at FMS web I am interested in Fort Bragg 255NP and 255NO. I am jump qualified but also I want to know anyone who has submitted an application for 75th Ranger BAT?

Sometime near the beginning of WOBC, our assignment manager, CW3 Walner, will send out a list of possible assignments. Just keep in mind that not all possible assignments are on that list. For instance, there were 3 Korea assignments listed, but 8 of our 19 ended up with Korea. Germany, Sam Houston, and 112 were also on the list but nobody got them. I even ended up with an assignment that wasn't on the list. As for Ranger, that's something you'll have to work through Reba. One of the guys in my class is going to 2/75, but he has spent his entire career with regiment.

Mr Paquette thanks for the info. i wrote cw3 wallner and asked about airborne assignments and wanted to go back on jump status. she did mention the slots are there for SF groups which i would love to try to get eglin afb but i know that will be far fetch to request coming out WOBC.
good thing is i will be done with wobc at the end of October 2017 which is the rotation timeline so hopefully there will be decent picks out there.

WO1 (Join to see) - Don't put all your hopes on getting a slot at group. Each only has 1 255N. A guy in my class will be the one for 3SFG and I'll be the one for 5SFG. I'm actually surprised that they offered those slots to fresh WO1s. Other than SFG, there are other Airborne units like 82nd, 18 Airborne, 112th and 173rd.

I am a WO with the Army Reserves and do not have anything to add. I completed WOCS last year; it was an experience. Good luck to you Candidate.

I'm at an ABCT and love it. Just have to wait till deployment for experience with exterior protocols.

that is what I was told from my senior WO and that is to go to a BCT for my first assignment. I would like to know the process and ideal timeline for Ranger Regiment but at the same time I do want to take the difficult assignments with airborne operations at Bragg.
