Old Man Statement, Day 39, 30 September 2024
Mr. Burk is so old...he misses the days of sitting around in the cave telling stories of dinosaur hunting.

I was honored today by the TAPS class (Teaching as a profession class) as being an outstanding teacher. Each Monday they recognize one teacher with this award. I didn't even know it existed, until today! I was shocked and practically speechless. I just do my job each day to the best of my ability. Apparently others must think I do an outstanding job. I'd love to post the card the students gave me but I can't due to privacy concerns.

The old man jokes are part of my connection with the students! The vast majority are good students but in every class, you always have that one or two! Part of the job.

Cpl Vic Burk - That seems to be the case with any group of people, workers, students, people in organizations, most are ok but there always seems to be one or two that just seems to be a problem.
