Delta cancels hundreds of flights as it struggles to recover after Crowdstrike failures

One thing many folks don't realize is that airlines are very frugal when it comes to upgrading most of the software that keep their systems running. When old software takes a hit it may not be easy to reboot it, heck some of it is probably 9older than the tech trying to get it running again.

It's wild to think of a massive airline like Delta being impacted for days from a single software glitch – definitely shows how fragile those systems can be. A friend of mine who was supposed to fly First Class for the first time had their flight canceled, and they were really bummed.
