Well once again the Army is changing the point system. How do you fill about this and or would you rather see the Army switch to the testing system like the other branches?

I feel that the Army should go back to a version of the MOSQ testing that they did in the early and mid 80's that incorporates the Soldiers knowledge of technical and tactical skills. That way we could start weeding out Soldiers that get promoted because of who they know and get promoted because of what they know.

The downside SFC those who are most technically proficient, are not neccessarily good leaders. And how would that change the way we do MOS changes would SGT or SSG be able to change MOS.

The only thing that changed was that SSD is no longer worth promotion points. Its a small change but yet another change.

SSD isn't worth much anyway in my opinion. A bunch of power points with a test. Just give me a book to read and call it a day.

Point system is good as long as they stop changing the system. The only down fall is that anybody can get promoted all they have to do is score good on an APFT, Range, have some awards, do some Civilian Ed and Military ED, but that doesn't mean they are right for the promotion.
