I recently joined the Patriot Guard Riders. I do not have a bike but I serve as the utility guy who carries extra flags and gear. If you are unaware, the PGR escorts military heroes to their final resting places. The idea is to honor those heroes, and to keep protesters away for funerals which they seek to disrupt. Glad to have you aboard! I would like to add, PGR also does Welcome Homes for returning service members, as well as Honor Ceremonies for First Responders (ie Police, Paramedics, & Firefighters) We did a funeral escort for a State Trooper a few years ago, that went for almost sixty miles to the cemetery. Every on ramp was blocked by State Troopers all the way as we came near. We were met by the State Police Honor Guard. It was impressive indeed.
PGR is available for most any function involving military service and first responder members as long as there are no politics involved.
All ranks (Officer & Enlisted0 from every Branch or Agency are well represented. The only requirements are Respect, Courtesy, and Safety.
